The Ministry of Sport is excited to be launching Pre-Season, a week of sports ministry training, available for free to all who love sport and want to see the world transformed for Christ.
For 9 years the Ministry of Sport has been serving churches across Nottinghamshire by resourcing them to reach into their communities through sports culture, and equipping sporty Christians to witness through their involvement in sport, be it as a player, official or armchair fan. You can find out more about the Ministry of Sport here.
This year we wanted to use the experience and know-how we've picked up along the way to equip others from across the country with a week's free sports ministry training. We want Christians who love sport to be well prepared to justify their involvement in sport to those in their church, and skillfully articulate the Good News to the culture of sports. The week will be residential in Nottingham, and will include:
- experiencing first-hand sports outreach events like Golf Days, Sports Quiz evenings, church-based fitness classes, Sports Churches and Football Tournaments
- receiving top quality training from sports ministry practitioners on a variety of useful topics including the biblical basis for sports ministry, understanding historical Christian engagement/disengagement with sport, models of sports evangelism and much, much more
- the chance to practically develop your ability to articulate the Good News to sports culture
